Future/Past Conferences

Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Satellite Mini-Convention, Friday, November 2, 2007, "Frontiers in Addiction Research", San Diego, CA
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is once again sponsoring an all-day satellite mini-convention entitled "Frontiers in Addiction Research" at this year's Society for Neuroscience (SfN) meeting on Friday November 2, 2007, 8:00 AM -6:00 PM in the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA. Seating is limited. Pre-register on line at: http://www.sei2003.com/nida/frontiers2007

Scientists will present recent findings and discuss future directions in the neurobiology of drug abuse
and addiction. There will be four symposia:

- Neuronal Adaptations and Counter-adaptations

- Heteromerization of G-Protein-Coupled Receptors: Implications for CNS
Function and \Dysfunction

- Glial Cells and Addiction

- Henri Begleiter Memorial Symposium (co-sponsored by the National
Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA))

The SfN Jacob Waletzky Memorial Lecture will be given, and a poster session for Early Career Investigators (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty) will take place during a two-hour extended lunch break.

CPDD will, with NIDA, co-sponsor 3 international (non-U.S.) early career investigators with travel awards of $1000 each. Under this arrangement, three early career investigators associated with CPDD will be featured in the poster session, and CPDD will be listed as a co-sponsor in the SfN and mini-convention programs. We generally expect the poster presenters will be individuals who are planning to attend the SfN annual meeting, and therefore they may present the same poster at both meetings. The travel award is to help with their overall expenses and defray the extra cost of coming a day earlier, not to fully fund their trip to San Diego.

DEADLINE: JULY 19, 2007
Please send a letter of application, along with a CV and an outline of your research (or a copy of the poster) to:
