Ronald Brady, M.D.


Dr. Brady graduated from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Psychiatry at The Payne Whitney Clinic in 1970. He engaged in private practice for five years. Vincent and Marie Dole stimulated his interest in Addiction Medicine, and he has directed The Bridge Plaza Treatment and Rehabilitation Clinic for some 30 years. The clinic serves as a model for the integration of research and clinical activities. In addition, he has served as an advisor to the New York State Drug Abuse Commission, co-authored 15 papers on various aspects of methadone treatment and lectured extensively on automated dispensing. He invented the automated dispensing system in 1975 and has spent the intervening years perfecting it. The system is currently installed in some 700 clinics throughout the United States and Europe. Dr. Brady is Director of Clinical Services at Bridge Plaza and participates in the training of Columbia Post Graduate Fellows in Addiction Medicine. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University.
